This morning Rachel Ryder talked about finishing up some home improvement projects and doing some late summer projects around the house this weekend.

Today Rachel Ryder's talked with Larry Lloyd and Kenny Seness about special blood drive event going on Tuesday in Spring Arbor. The event not only collects blood donations, but gives an opportunity to learn about helping those affected by the Haiti earthquake through the Give a Tent organization, based in Spring Arbor.

Rachel also talked about Chris and Conrad’s Fall Tour announcement. They’ll be taking the road this Fall with 33 Miles and JJ Heller.

She also pointed out Michigan Farmer's Markets as a great local alternative for shopping this weekend. Michigan is ranked #4 in the country for its Farmers Markets. Details here.

This morning Rachel Ryder shared tips on how to host a successful garage sale. She also found some encouraging research and findings for left-handed people.

Voting is reported to have gone smoothly on Tuesday, with about 20 percent of registered voters participating.

Listen tomorrow morning, as Rachel talks with representatives from both the American Red Cross in Jacskon and the Spring Arbor-based Give a Tent Haiti Relief organization. There is a special opportunity to support both next week at a special blood drive.

This morning Rachel Rydertalked with Rebecca Hilleary with the Jackson Rose Festival about the Queen for a Day event for little girls later on today. She also talked about opportunities for you to support and see these princesses tonight.

Polls in Michigan are open from 7am-8pm today. Identification/license is required to vote, as well as having registered to vote. Votes are straight-ticket, partisan votes today. Here are the stories piling up in Michigan related to voting today. Also, here's a good guideline for Jackson voting.

Watch for the Northern Lights tonight in the late night sky.

Sara Groves recently joined the 5 Weeks for Freedom Team, riding 70 miles through Nashville as part of the organization's 1,800-mile bike ride through the historic Underground Railroad. 5 Weeks for Freedom is a major awareness and advocacy campaign to give a voice to victims of modern-day slavery and other forms of injustice. Construction note: There will be street closure on Argyle Street between West Ave and Wisner in Jackson starting tomorrow for construction. It could be closed off until sometime in October. Details at (517) 788-4160.
