Lawn Mower Racing- Jackson County Fairgrounds Lawn mower racing is just what it sounds like: Drivers ride on modified, bladeless mowers, racing around a track like they would in any other motorsport.

The Mid-Michigan Outlaw Lawnmower Racing Club has had races in members’ yards and at the I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, but this year it has a new home at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. The first races of the season are Saturday at the fairgrounds. Gates open at noon, with qualifying at 2 p.m. and racing at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Pit passes are $10. Children younger than 16 are not allowed in the pits, and those 16 and 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Races also are scheduled for June 19, July 31, Aug. 28, Sept. 18 and Oct. 30.

  • There are no songs like Christian songs that speak to your heart and inspire you as you go about your day. I especially like the a.m. show with Rachel Ryder. She always says interesting things and plays lots of great music.
